TweakTown Community Guidelines

TweakTown Membership lets readers create a free account to take part in our community. To keep TweakTown welcoming and useful, everyone who participates agrees to these guidelines. They apply alongside our Terms and Privacy Policy.

These guidelines apply to your Membership account and to all community participation on TweakTown, including public comments on articles, reactions, @mentions, reputation or badges, notifications, saved articles, member giveaways, and public member profile pages. The same standards apply whether you are managing your account or taking part in the community.

Be respectful

• Treat other members, staff, and the people you write about with respect.
• No harassment, hate speech, threats, or personal attacks—in comments, reactions, mentions, or any other participation.
• No content that is discriminatory, sexually explicit, or gratuitously violent.

Keep it genuine

• Do not impersonate TweakTown staff, brands, other members, or public figures.
• Choose a display name that is not misleading, offensive, or a protected/reserved name.
• No spam, scams, undisclosed advertising, affiliate abuse, vote manipulation, or bulk/automated posting.

Stay lawful and safe

• Do not post illegal content or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Do not share other people’s private information.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, probe, or abuse TweakTown’s systems.

Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create a TweakTown Membership account.
• You are responsible for activity on your account, including comments and other community participation. Keep access to your email secure.
• Profile pictures must be appropriate. Pictures you upload are reviewed before they appear to other members. If you have not uploaded your own, we automatically import one from your Google account (when you sign in with Google) or from Gravatar (when one exists for your email). You can replace or remove your picture anytime in My Account.

Comments and participation

• Stay on topic and add value. Do not post solely to promote products, services, or off-site links without disclosure where required.
• Do not repost copyrighted material beyond what is reasonably necessary for discussion; respect intellectual property.
• @Mentions and reactions must not be used to harass, spam, or mislead others.
• Reputation, badges, or similar indicators reflect participation on TweakTown—do not attempt to game or abuse them.

Moderation

TweakTown may remove content (including comments and reactions), reject profile pictures, adjust reputation or badges, or suspend or ban accounts that breach these guidelines, at our discretion. Where appropriate we will let you know by email. Serious or repeated breaches may result in permanent removal.
