With new cards coming out, there's no doubt that we will see some changes in the Catalyst Performance Analysis over the next few months. But for now there aren't any changes, so let's just get stuck into it.

3DMark Vantage is the new industry standard PC gaming performance benchmark from Futuremark, newly designed for Windows Vista and DirectX10. It includes two new graphics tests, two new CPU tests, several new feature tests, and support for the latest hardware.

 

3DMark Vantage is based on a completely new rendering engine, developed specifically to take full advantage of DirectX10, the new graphics API from Microsoft.

 

ATI Catalyst 9.3 Analysis - XP & Vista

 

HD 4850: We see that performance is down on both configurations.

 

HD 4870: We see performance is slightly down on P, but slightly up on X.

 

HD 4870 X2: We see performance is a fair bit down on P and with no real change at X.
