ATI Catalyst 8.2 Analysis - XP & Vista

AMD has just released a new Catalyst driver for Radeon graphics cards - we check out performance under XP and Vista.

Introduction

We're running a little late again this month, no thanks to the new test system needing a whole lot of changes. We're here now though, and we're ready to check out the latest Catalyst drivers from the team over at AMD.

Let's see if there's anything exciting going on because the release notes don't tell us about any performance increases unfortunately.

We receive the Catalyst drivers before they go up on the AMD website and before the release notes are written. While we don't always get the opportunity to test the particular applications that are mentioned in the release notes we try to cover all our bases by testing Synthetic, Real World, HDR, OpenGL, Direct3D along with AA and AF.

If there is an application improvement that we haven't tested feel free to use the forums and comment on anything you notice.

Moving on...
