A PS5 emulator has now booted Marvel's Wolverine on PC, and the game only launched on PlayStation 5 on September 15.
User Jose Coixao (@notnotzecoxao) posted a short video on X showing the KytyPS5 emulator getting the game to its main menu, on a system with a GeForce RTX 5090 and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Frame rates were reportedly around 2 FPS, and no gameplay was shown, so this is a boot-to-menu result for now.

When we covered the emulator in July, KytyPS5 had only just reached the menus of GTA 5 and ran Quake II at around 7 FPS with glitches. Roughly a month later, footage highlighted on X showed GTA 5 running through its North Yankton prologue.
Moreover, Demon's Souls Remake then went from 1-2 FPS to 10-18 FPS, and newer PSXTech footage apparently shows it at 40 to 50 FPS on a Core i9-14900K and an RTX 5090. That footage reportedly comes from a closed benchmark build, so I wouldn't assume everyone can reproduce it yet.

Of course, a PC with an RTX 5090 is hardly a typical gaming PC. The base KytyPS5 build also still crashes on Silent Hill 2 Remake, which its fork KytyPlus has already managed to boot. Getting to a menu is a long way from finishing a game, and we don't know how long Wolverine will take to reach actual gameplay.

Some of the recent progress is also being credited to AI coding tools, though I'd take that with a grain of salt, as nobody has confirmed how much the developers use them.
