TL;DR: Oblivion Remastered launched with unofficial mod support, sparking a growing community of player-created mods that enhance gameplay. Popular mods include Carry Weight Modifier, Oblivion Optimizer, and Difficulty Slider Fixed, improving performance, customization, and user experience despite Bethesda’s lack of official mod support or assistance.

Oblivion Remastered has been out for less than a day, and it has already received a selection of mods that can be downloaded and easily installed by players.

One of the biggest components of a Bethesda title is the player-driven community of modders who push the limits of what is possible within the world that Bethesda and its developers have created. An example of this is Skyrim, which one could argue wouldn't have maintained its staying power in the gaming zeitgeist without its plethora of player-created mods, which introduce an almost infinite number of ways to replay the game. Now Bethesda has confirmed and released The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered one of the first questions players asked was - does it come with mod support?

Officially, Bethesda doesn't support mods for Oblivion Remastered, but all that means is that Bethesda won't help you if you decide to use mods and the game suddenly breaks. If the game does break, Bethesda recommends uninstalling the mods and verifying the game files' integrity. Alternatively, you can simply uninstall and reinstall the game. Despite these disclaimers, it hasn't stopped mod creators from already pushing out several mods for Oblivion Remastered, with the most popular being listed below.
