NVIDIA purportedly has some kind of plan to sneak up pricing of the RTX 4080 to make breathing room for the RTX 4070 Super when it arrives.

Apparently in Japan, the RTX 4080 is avoided by customers who prefer to buy either side of the GPU, grabbing an RTX 4090, or an RTX 4070 Ti.

What this - and other recent big price drops on GPUs that sold out quickly - illustrates is that there is pent-up demand for current-gen products.

NVIDIA's RTX 4080 has suddenly got a lot more affordable in the Chinese market, and so has a top-end AMD graphics card too - the Radeon RX 7900 XT.

The RTX 4090 was also discounted in the US, but stock has now vanished, while RTX 4080 deals currently remain - though you might want to think carefully.
