Multiple companies have made proposed offers to buy Arkane Studios, the developer behind games like Dishonored and Prey, sources tell Bloomberg's Jason Schreier.

According to the latest reports, Ubisoft could be the new home of Arkane Studios. Microsoft's quest to reset Xbox has led to thousands of layoffs, cutting teams while divesting studios like Double Fine. The goal is to find a buyer rather than close a studio, and multiple orgs are reportedly interested in Arkane Lyon, one of the groups Microsoft seeks to divest itself from.

The latest info says that Ubisoft has made an offer to buy Arkane, likely to continue production on Marvel's Blade and lead to an official release. At least two other teams are said to be interested in the deal, and Microsoft is not opposed to letting Arkane buy its independence.

Arkane is currently part of Bethesda under ZeniMax Media, which is further nestled under Xbox as a limited-integration company. Even still, Bethesda's money coffers flow uphill to Xbox and Microsoft, and it's likely that the Xbox business as a whole has been audited in a bid to squash out wasteful spending.

The current Xbox CEO is prioritizing key franchises like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls within Bethesda's walls. Just today, Bethesda formally revealed The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel with a flashy new trailer, illustrating Microsoft's new emphasized released slate.

Arkane is still working on Marvel's Blade, yet it remains unclear when--or if--the game will actually release.

Another key point: Ubisoft just made a radical transformational restructuring that saw hundreds of layoffs and its IPs and franchises carved up across multiple "creative house" business units.
