If you have played a Zelda game, you would understand the mystical and enchanting world of Hyrule. Well, an artistic has now captured that mysticism in an amazing topographical wooden map.
The artist named Mason Drumm decided to pick the incredible landscape of 2017's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Drumm contacted Kotaku with images, and also gave a statement for how he went about creating such amazing work. To summarize from the statement, Drumm says the Breath of the Wild map was his "most ambitious woodworking project to date".
Drumm also says that he spent hundreds of hours playing Breath of the Wild with his wife, and that this is what inspired him to complete the project which took him over 65 hours of work, six weeks of his time. In the entirety of this article I have provided the rest of the images that were taken, and from them you can really see the exquisite detail that has gone into the maps recreation.
Here is Drumm's full statement: "What started as a creative break from my short film, "Unbound," quickly became my most ambitious woodworking project to date. Inspired by hundreds of hours spent playing "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," I set out to create a wood and epoxy, hand-crafted, 3D topographical map of Hyrule."
"Every nook and cranny of the map has an adventure or memory I can recall from playing the game with my wife on the Nintendo Switch. It took 65 hours of work over six weeks in my fathers shop to complete the map. It was my first time working with resin/epoxy and now that it's done, hanging on the office wall behind my desk, I'm happy to say it was an absolute delight to bring that digital realm into the real-world."
