The first Deadpool movie was a R-rated blast, setting records in its own respective field for largest R-rated opening weekend movie ever. Deadpool 2 has recently been released and has not lived up to its predecessors opening weekend mark.

The original Deadpool was released back in February 2016 and it made a massive $132.4 million during its opening weekend. According to Entertainment Weekly, Deadpool 2 was projected to make anywhere between $130-$150 million, unfortunately the title fell short, only making $125 million in the US and Canada.

Overall though, Deadpool 2 made $176.3 million from overseas markets bringing the newly released sequel to a total worldwide haul of $301.1 million for its opening weekend. Deadpool 2's debut did have an achievement though, it finally knocked off Avengers: Infinity War from sitting at the top of the weekly revenue figures.
