We all know about the cryptocurrency mining phenomenon that has lasted longer than fidget spinners and Pokemon GO combined, but now Colorful is entering the game with the most unique motherboard... well... EVER.
Colorful has just announced a non-standard form factor motherboard that uses Intel's LGA 1151 socket, with the new C.B250A-BTC PLUS V20 motherboard (you won't forget that easily, don't worry) rocking a huge 8 x PCIe x16 slots. The board is a massive 485mm in length and even 195mm wide... meaning even huge HPTX cases won't house it.
The new motherboard is built for mining-specific racks, with 8 x PCIe x16 slots and 2-slot spacing between them for 8 high-end graphics cards to mine 24/7.
Get this: there's no 24-pin ATX power input, but there are 2 x 4-pin ATX power inputs for the CPU, and a huge 16 x PCIe power inputs for all of those graphics cards. The top most x16 slot is PCIe 3.0 x16 and is wired to the CPU, while the other 7 are PCIe 3.0 x1, and all wired up to the Intel B250 Express PCH.
The CPU is wired to a single DDR4 SO-DIMM, but I run most of my mining setups with a combination of 4GB and 8GB of RAM... RAM isn't a problem here. We have a few USB ports on the back, HDMI output, and GbE for networking. Nice and basic, and a freaking mining BEAST!!!
Colorful hasn't released any ETA or pricing on the C.B250A-BTC PLUS V20 yet.
