Microsoft is getting serious about pricing its Xbox One S console in a direct death threat to Sony and the PS4 and PS4 Pro, as well as paving the way to its upcoming Xbox One X console. The Xbox One S is now available through Microsoft's own Xbox store for just $249, and that includes a freaking game as well.
The new Xbox One S deal includes the 500GB console with different bundles available:
- Battlefield 1
- Forza Horizon 3
- Minecraft Favorites
- Battlefield 1 Special Edition
- Gears of War 4
But there's also a huge price reduction on the 1TB console, with Xbox One S 1TB console bundles that include Battlefield 1 or Gears of War 4, with these consoles and specific games giving you the 1TB console for just $249. That's damn good considering the 2TB console is $349 on sale, and normally $399.
Even as a PC gamer, the Xbox One S is the perfect 4K Blu-ray player for your 4K-capable TV. For that reason and that reason only I own the Xbox One S, but at $249... it's ridiculously cheap to own one now. But it creates a gigantic price gap between the even standard $299 pricing and the $499 price on the 4K-capable Xbox One X.
Microsoft will be launching its next-gen Xbox One X console on November 7 for $499.
