Samsung didn't have a great end of 2016 with its various Galaxy Note 7 issues, with smartphones catching fire and exploding - and while they're teasing their Galaxy S8, LG is preparing for the launch of its upcoming G6 flagship handset.
LG is promising that its consumers will be safe from any issues of overheating, with LG Mobile Communication Division boss, Lee Seok-jong saying that LG has used a unique mechanism that uses heat pipes in the LG G6 that will make sure that heat is shifted through the phone efficiently, and will avoid any overheating problems.
Seok-jong said: "We will significantly improve the safety and quality of our new flagship smartphones as more consumers seek safe smartphones", while another LG official said: "We are conducting battery heat exposure tests to a temperature 15 percent higher than the temperature set by the international standards of the US and Europe. The battery also undergoes diverse tests such as piercing it with a sharp nail or dropping a heavy object on it from a high place".
LG should be aiming for a home run with its upcoming G6 smartphone, as it'll need to fight the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, the current Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, and Apple's current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus - all market leaders.
