PAX Australia 2016 - Last week, I flew over to Melbourne, Australia to attend PAX Australia 2016 with my friend and nephew, and had a weekend of gaming, technology, and socializing with a bunch of friends and contacts in the tech/gaming industry.
PAX Australia is the biggest event of its kind in the country, so we went crazy snapping a bunch of pictures - now you can live through the show with our pictures. There's lots to see, as I have 61 pictures for you to enjoy.
We have to personally thank GIGABYTE for sponsoring towards our PAX Australia 2016 trip, and it worked out well - because I was going to cover their stuff anyway, as the company was there in a huge way with their NVIDIA and AMD-based graphics cards in countless machines across the floor. Not only that, but Team.AU also overclocked an Intel Core i7-6950X and hit a world record 5.744GHz using a GIGABYTE motherboard. So thanks, GIGABYTE!
Team.AU Break Core i7-6950X Overclock Record!
Speaking of Team.AU, they hosted an event to chat about all things overclocking - which was great, an intimate, personal insight into the ongoings of Team.AU - and it sounds like a fun place to be!
This is the system that Team.AU used on stage, but we haven't shown you to good stuff yet.
'dinos22' looking concerned as Team.AU is trying to get to 5.7GHz on the Core i7-6950X.
'youngpro' pouring some LN2 onto the chip to keep it cool.
Dino calling in some reinforcements? :P
Looks cool... pun intended.
Case Mods Galore
Case modding is at a stage where the designs and systems that people are making now, are out of this world. We have a bunch of custom PCs that we spotted at PAX Australia 2016 - let us know which one you like most in the comments below.
Misc Pics
Freakin' gorgeous.
HP had its Omen gaming desktop on display, and holy hell does it look awesome.
Imagine gaming on a keyboard this big...
Seeing this setup makes me want to buy a HOTAS setup for Star Citizen, dammit.
MSI teasing its new GeForce GTX 1070 Quick Silver 8G was on display at PAX Australia 2016.
MSI used their own motherboard to display the Quick Silver graphics card, but look - they're building a Gaming Series CPU cooler! This is coming early next year.
It looks great! We'll be building a PC using one of these coolers in the very near future.
MSI also had their VR One backpack that we got to use, the finalized product and not the one shown off at previous events. I used the VR One backpack, and couldn't feel it when I was walking around - it was much lighter than my backpack, which only has a mid-range laptop, phone chargers, cameras, and cables inside.
