Assassin's Creed Resynced looks to be gaming's next major AAA hit as the game is currently the #1 top pre-ordered game on multiple global PlayStation Stores.

Following the success of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft could have another best-seller on its hands with the upcoming Black Flag remake. The game might be a seasonal success, at least on PlayStation, as Black Flag Resynced has become the #1 top pre-ordered game on eight of nine tracked PlayStation Store geographies.
At the time of writing, the game is the #1 pre-ordered game in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and even Hong Kong. The only region in our pool of tracked countries where Black Flag Resynced wasn't #1 was in Japan, a somewhat fickle market with wide degrees of varying tastes.

So what does this data tell us?
Usually, the top pre-orders on PlayStation will sell decently well, and we can typically use these standings as predictors of success. However, nothing is guaranteed in the games industry, and Black Flag Resynced is going up against steep competition with Diablo IV's Lord of Hatred expansion and Sony's first-party Saros, both of which are poised to release in a matter of days and have populated these pre-order lists for some time.
Black Flag Resynced is also the #7 best-seller on Steam, which is another indicator for success, yet Ubisoft's games have always sold much better on consoles.
Previous games that we tracked before, including Capcom's Pragmata, turned out to be hits--it was revealed that Pragmata had sold 1 million copies shortly after the game launched.
Based on this, it's likely that IO Interactive's upcoming James Bond 007 Last Light game could likewise be a platinum-seller at launch.
