GIGABYTE's new B650E AORUS motherboard can handle GPUs that weigh up to 58kg
GIGABYTE is preparing to launch its new B650E AORUS PRO X USB4 motherboard, which has a PCIe Ultra Durable slot that supports graphics cards that weigh up to an incredibly hefty 58kg (!!!).
In a new report from Benchlife, we're learning that AMD's new AM5 motherboards ready for Zen 5 will feature the 800-series chipset naming, not the 700-series chipset everyone thought would succeed the 600-series chipset that powers current Zen 4-ready motherboards.
Benchlife received a new GIGABYTE B650E AORUS PRO X USB4 motherboard, noting that it should have specs and features one would expect from the new flagship X870 motherboards. GIGABYTE is most likely testing its new features and support for its new motherboards, gearing up for the 800-series motherboards that will debut later this year.
AMD rumored to skip 700 series motherboards for Zen 5, new flagship X870 on the way
AMD's next-gen Zen 5 desktop processors will be released later this year, with new AM5 motherboards featuring the 800-series chipset -- not the 700-series chipset to succeed the current-gen 600-series chipset -- with a new flagship X870 on the way.
This is something we heard about in leaks earlier this year from leaker Moore's Law is Dead, and now we're hearing the 800-series chipset news again, this time from Benchlife. Benchlife has 'confirmed' that AMD's new Ryzen 9000 series "Zen 5" desktop CPUs -- not the Ryzen AI 300 series -- will debut in July, with new 800-series motherboards to join the fun.
Benchlife reports: "Obviously, we can expect various motherboard manufacturers to display AMD and Intel 800 series chip motherboards at Computex 2024; it has been confirmed that the chips used with AMD Ryzen 9000 will be called the 800 series, the same as Intel. However, there are still motherboard manufacturers working hard on the first-generation AM5 pin motherboards, such as the upcoming B650E AORUS PRO X USB4 from GIGABYTE".
GIGABYTE's next-gen Z890 AORUS EXTREME AI TOP motherboard teased, full reveal at Computex 2024
GIGABYTE will unveil an entire fleet of next-gen Z890 motherboards at Computex 2024, with the flagship Z890 AORUS EXTREME AI TOP motherboard officially teased.
We knew about 8 of the new Z890 motherboards from recent leaks, but now the official AORUS account on Instagram is teasing their Computex 2024 motherboards. In the post on Instagram, GIGABYTE goes through many years of its different motherboards, asking people what their favorite motherboards were in general, and their favorite motherboards shown off on the Instagram post.
GIGABYTE preps huge range of next-gen AORUS Z890 motherboards, ready for Arrow Lake-S CPUs
GIGABYTE is preparing a huge wave of next-gen Z890 motherboards ready for Intel's next-gen Core Ultra 200 series "Arrow Lake-S" desktop processors... most of them with AI, of course.
In a new leak from Persian news outlet Faceit.ir who sourced their data from a local GIGABYTE distributor, multiple new Z890 motherboards are in the works using the new LGA 1851 socket and ready for Intel's next-gen Arrow Lake CPUs. We should expect Intel to detail its new processors at Computex 2024 in just a couple of weeks time, as well as GIGABYTE (and other motherboard makers) unveiling new 800-series motherboards.
GIGABYTE has at least 8 new motherboards based on the Z890 chipset alone, with the new flagship GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS EXTREME AI TOP motherboard, as well as the new Z890 AORUS MASTER AI TOP motherboard, while the third board is the Z890 AI TOP. Notice a trend? AI, AI, AI, baby.
Intel's next-gen Z890 motherboard details: native Thunderbolt 4, ready for Arrow Lake CPUs
Intel has its next-generation Arrow Lake CPUs in the oven right now, with some details leaked regarding the new flagship Z890 chipset.
In a new information dump on Intel's new Core Ultra 200 "Arrow Lake" CPUs from Golden Pig Upgrade, we get details on the SKUs to expect, integrated GPU configurations, and the new flagship Z890 chipset. Intel's new flagship CPU this year will be the Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake-S" processor, which will launch alongside the Core Ultra 7 265K, and Core Ultra 5 245K processors.
Golden Pig Upgrade explains that new Z890 motherboards should all feature native Thunderbolt 4 as standard. The integrated GPU on Intel's new Core Ultra 200 series "Arrow Lake" CPUs will have up to 4 Xe-Cores based on the Alchemist Xe-LPG graphics architecture, half of what the laptop-focused Core Ultra 100 series "Meteor Lake" processors have with 8 Xe-Cores.
SAPPHIRE NITRO+ B650I Wi-Fi Ultra Platinum: the company's first AMD AM5 motherboard
SAPPHIRE is well known in the AMD Radeon GPU world for some of the best Radeon series graphics cards over the years, and now the company has unveiled its first AM5 socket motherboard, the new NITRO+ B650I Wi-Fi Ultra Platinum. Check it out:
The company had a NITRO+ B550I series motherboard on the market, which is based on the AMD AM4 socket, while the new NITRO+ B650I Wi-Fi Ultra Platinum motherboard is based on the AM5 socket. The AM5 socket itself has been around for a few years now, but AMD has promised that AM5 still has a few more years of life with next-gen Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 series CPUs to work on the AM5 socket.
SAPPHIRE's new NITRO+ B650I Wi-Fi Ultra Platinum motherboard has 8+2 phase (70A powerstage) VRM which is controlled by the XDPE 192C3B PWM IC. A heatsink cools the power delivery systemk, while we have 2 x DDR5 DIMM slots that support up to 64GB of DDR5-6000 memory, while power is provided through a single 8-pin connector and regular 24-pin ATX power connector.
Own a GIGABYTE AORUS Z790 motherboard? Steer clear of the new beta BIOS whatever you do
GIGABYTE recently deployed a new beta firmware release for its AORUS Z790 motherboards, but it suffers from a serious bug - so you should avoid it for now if possible.
Of course, all beta software needs to be regarded somewhat warily as it can always be bugged, and that's especially true when it comes to motherboard BIOS updates for obvious reasons. When things go awry with your BIOS, the results can be devastating, and the reported glitch in the AORUS Z790 beta is a pretty nasty one.
That said, you won't notice anything - or you won't see this bug anyway - if you don't go into the BIOS after updating. However, those who have the new beta firmware have found that the BIOS freezes up when they go into it, or shortly after. Which obviously means making any further changes to BIOS settings is quite tricky.
GIGABYTE's new Z790 AORUS XTREME X ICE motherboard features a golden LGA 1700 socket
GIGABYTE has just unveiled its gorgeous new Z790 AORUS XTREME X ICE motherboard, with a golden LGA 1700 socket and a beautiful design right across the board. Check it out:
The new Z790 AORUS XTREME X ICE motherboard is a ridiculously high-end flagship motherboard from GIGABYTE. It has a gigantic LCD screen over the I/O cover that can give you real-time information about your processor, power delivery, temperatures, fan speeds, and more.
It looks like GIGABYTE is using the monster E-ATX form factor, which is why the new Z790 AORUS XTREME X ICE motherboard is so big. There's no official specs sheet yet, but it should feature a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for your graphics card and at least one M.2 Gen5 SSD slot for an ultra-fast 14GB/sec+ Gen5 SSD.
