Lenovo India has removed three of the leading Indian e-tailers from their authorized sellers list: Snapdeal, FlipKart and Amazon India. The Chinese based PC and mobile device maker also issued a notice in their website with a message that users should check the warranty period while purchasing from such sites. Few months ago, Nikon delisted FlipKart and Snapdeal from their authorized list.
Many of these companies with its own online retail websites have started a protest against such online retail websites as their 'predatory' pricing are hurting their business and profit margins.

CES 2014 - It looks like Lenovo is preparing to unleash some low-cost Chromebooks this year, with Jay Parker, President for Lenovo's North American operations confirming the news during CES 2014.
Parker said: "Chromebooks can be very impactful in the market really quickly" and that "we believe the market will accelerate greatly in the next 12 months". Lenovo might not become an overnight sensation in the Chromebook market, but extending its offerings outside of the PC market which is dominated with Windows, could be a step in the right direction for the company.
CES 2014 - There aren't many thin gaming notebooks on the market outside of the Razer Blade, but it looks like GIGABYTE's new Aorus series will take care of that. GIGABYTE's Aorus is the company's new PC gaming hardware brand, which has started off with a new gaming notebook.
The Aorus X7 is a 17.3-inch gaming notebook which features Intel's Core i7-4700HQ processor, two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M GPUs in SLI, up to 32GB of RAM, a pair of 512GB SSDs and the storage is backed up by a 1TB mechanical HDD. All of this arrives in chassis that is just 0.9 inches thick, with two fans, four vents and five thermal pipes doing everything they can to keep GIGABYTE's Aorus X7 cool.
Connectivity wise we have dual HDMI ports, a mini DisplayPort and VGA socket that will drive up to three more monitors from the Aorus X7. GIGABYTE has provided some anti-ghosting keys, dedicated macro buttons on its backlit keyboard, a Killer NIC networking chip, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi to wrap things up. We should expect the GIGABYTE Aorus X7 to ship in March, with prices falling between $2,099 and $2,799.
CES 2014 - We all know Lenovo has some of the best notebooks on the market, but it has just refreshed its X1 Carbon notebook at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 that is currently cranking along in Las Vegas.

Something unique that Lenovo has done with its X1 Carbon is provide an Adaptive Keyboard, which the company claims "dynamically adjusts based on the software or application being used to highlight the most relevant keys". The 14-inch display is of the anti-glare variety, with Lenovo offering up a 1600x900 or 2560x1440 resolution.
Lenovo has provided a rapid-charge technology, which will provide 80% of the total charge in under an hour, on top of a nine-hour battery. The pricing on the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon isn't bad, starting at $1,299. The refreshed X1 Carbon will be available starting at the end of the month.
CES 2014 - Samsung has made some modifications to its new Ativ Book 9 ultrabook, where it has dropped the high-resolution display, and instead pushed more battery life into the machine. Something that Samsung estimates will give consumers around 14 hours of battery life.
The previous model featured a 3200x1800-pixel 15.6-inch display, but the new model turns the heat down on the resolution to 1920x1080. This is something that should provide more battery life, but I don't see why we couldn't see two models on offer - one with the high-res display, one with the Full HD panel.
We have a choice between Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors, either a 128GB or 256GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM minimum.

Consumer electronics company LG is reportedly preparing to exit the PC market, so the South Korean company can focus on tablets, smartphones, and other mobile products. Leaving behind PCs will give LG the ability to focus on product development for other consumer products, including the company's increasing home entertainment business.
"The market for conventional PCs has been losing its luster as smartphones and tablets are replacing the products," an LG official told The Korea Times. "We are reviewing various options in a bid to improve the profitability of our computing business."
To make matters worse, Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 has left users relatively unimpressed, which makes it even harder to woo users to upgrade their machines. PC industry leaders Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard are involved in a close battle, while other companies are weighing their options for the turbulent market - Dell, for example, is rebuilding relationships with vendors while Acer, ASUS, and other companies strategize.
With Chromebooks becoming more popular than ever before, Samsung has decided to step up its offerings and release a model with some serious processing power. The new unnamed Chromebook will feature an 12-inch scree that features a resolution of 2560x1600, which will rival Google's Chromebook Pixel.
The biggest feature is not the screen however, but is the Samsung Exynos Octa-Core processor under the hood. The Exynos 5 8-core processor is built on Samsung's "big.LITTLE" design process and will make the new Chromebook the most powerful ever. 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage paired with USB 3.0 and a 7-hour battery will make this 2.5-pound notebook something of a must-have.
During the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month, computer manufacturer MSI will unveil new gaming notebooks, workstations, touchscreen laptops, tablets, and a new All-in-One (AIO) gaming system.

The Taiwanese-based company is well known for its gaming products, and that will be a major driving force for MSI in 2014.
We've already seen a faux leather (or 'pleather') look on the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone, as well as the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 edition) slate, but now it looks like Samsung could use this look on its upcoming notebooks.
The news is coming from a person who attended a Samsung S Academy event, who said that the new Ativ Book 9 family would run Windows 8.1, feature four 2W speakers, and a leather-like case compete with a stitching effect along the edges. The image above is supposedly from an Ativ Book 9 Style laptop, which features a faux leather lid.
