Just about every man and his dog know about Intel’s low power consuming Atom processor by now and how all the next batch of small notebooks, Mobile Internet Devices / UMPCs and so on will use it.

But how many of you out there know that you can snap up one of these puppies and use it on a Mini-ITX based motherboard?

Tranquil PC Limited over in the UK has an Atom-powered Mini-ITX D945GCLF motherboard for sale which comes installed with an Atom 230 1.60GHz processor.

It won’t be suitable as your next high-end gaming rig but it would be rather interesting for someone looking to build a quiet and low power consuming computer or a basic home theater PC.

You can pick up the motherboard and CPU together for £52.90 not including tax. If you are interested to be one of the first to try Atom on the desktop, head on over here and get yourself a piece of the action.
