ASUS Express Gate up close and personal

Last week we reported about the ASUS P45 event in Taipei and we still have a little bit more to tell from the gathering.

If you recall last week, we posted about how ASUS mobos will get instant-on Linux OS. We can now expand on this further and tell you that ASUS is stepping its Express Gate feature up a notch starting from the launch of its P5Q Premium (Intel P45 Express based mobo).

In the past you had to use a hard drive or some type of USB device to run Express Gate but from now on ASUS will include a NAND flash memory chip from Hynix on its motherboard and the chip used in this case is labeled HY27UT08462A.
