MAINGEAR $9000 Skulltrail PC unveiled

By: (more) | Posted: Mar 12, 2008 1:53 pm

MAINGEAR are makers of high-end computer systems in the US. Today they have unveiled something quite astonishing - say hello to the Ephex Skulltrail.

With a base price of $8995 USD, you would expect to get something quite good. Stuffed inside the system is an Intel Skulltrail motherboard with two Intel QX9775 Core 2 Extreme quad-core processors. They overclock them to 4GHz using their so-called Redline technology for folks who don't know how to overclock or cannot be bothered doing it.

You will get 4GB of RAM, a couple Western Digital Raptor Enterprise 150GB 10K RPM drives in RAID 0, two ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 cards in CrossFireX and it is all powered by a 1200W Silverstone DA1200 power supply.

If you have oodles and oodles of cash to spend, you can fully max out the thing and expect to pay over $12,000 USD and that is just for the system not including external parts.

If you want yours now, head on over xhere.
