A specific breakdown found that nine percent of men and less than four percent of women find the Apple Watch interesting - indicating Apple could sell around 15 million units, assuming survey respondents actually follow through.

Tech industry analysts previously provided a great number of estimates, ranging from 10 million up to 32 million units sold in 2015 alone.

There were less than 7 million smartwatch units sold in 2014, while Samsung led the market with 1.2 million units - but analysts expect Apple's contribution to the category to help generate new interest.
