Sony Australia have announced three new, hard drive based, 1920x1080 high definition handycams for the Australian market. The three will be available from late March at Sony Central stores Australia wide and all good camera retailers.
HDRSR10
Featuring a 40GB hard drive (suitable for a maximum of 5 hours of full HD recording) and 1920x1080 AVCHD (MPEG4) recording, up to a maximum bitrate of 16 mbps) and featuring Carl Zeiss lens with 4 MP still camera facility. This will be available for a suggested retail price of $1499 AUD.
HDRSR11
This higher spec'd version features a higher resolution CMOS sensor, capable of capturing 10.2 MP still photos, a 60GB Hard drive (suitable for a maximum of 7 hours of full HD recording) and 12x optical zoom. This will be available for a suggested retail price of $1999 AUD.
HDRSR12
Exactly the same as the HDRSR11, but featuring a massive 120GB hard drive (suitable for a maximum of 14.5 hours of full HD recording), and for only $200 more than the HDRSR11, you'd be crazy not to justify upgrading. In case you cant do the math from that, it will be available for a suggested retail price of $2199 AUD.
