Logitech takes to the Waves

By: (more) | Posted: Jul 26, 2007 9:33 am

It's been a busy couple of weeks for Logitech with a fair few product announcements and they're not over yet. Today, Logitech announced its latest wireless keyboard and mouse combo, the Cordless Desktop Wave. It has a new wave-shaped design that should be more comfortable to type on as it matches the various lengths of your fingers.

The Cordless Desktop Wave also has a cushioned contoured palm rest and the height of the keyboard is adjustable in three steps. Logitech has also added a wide range of quick launch buttons and some are specific to Windows Vista such as the Flip 3D, Zoom, Photo Gallery and Gadgets buttons. The function keys are also programmable.

The keyboard also features audio cable management via special channels in the bottom of the keyboard. Logitech is claiming up to 15 months battery life for the keyboard and 6 months for the mouse. Both have battery status lights that will warn you when the batteries are running low.

The LX8 mouse features laser technology and it has contoured sides with rubber grips. The set is supplied with a USB mini receiver and a USB extension cable with a small stand for the receiver. Logitech also supplies a plastic dust cover for the keyboard. The warranty period is a massive 5 years, although at a retail price of US$89.99 this should be kind of expected.
