Cloud gaming had some very rocky beginnings with services such as OnLive shuttering their doors due to being bought by Sony themselves. Sony and NVIDIA are pushing their game streaming services as a way to enjoy the full gaming experience without having to have the best hardware available. For Sony, only a compatible device is necessary, which includes some Samsung and Sony TV's.

The only major issue that might make the experience subpar is that of your connection. Though even a decent non-fiber broadband connection should be able to provide a surprisingly decent single-player experience. If you want to be more social in your gaming, then the added bandwidth might be prohibitive. There are also solutions that let you buy a hosted virtual gaming machine for a monthly fee. The company, Leap Computing intends to make high-end gaming more accessible. They've even developed their own streaming software to meet higher quality requirements. It's a very interesting venture. Cloud gaming and gaming PC's might be the future for a vast amount of people.
