EXCLUSIVE - Last Friday we visited the ASUS headquarters here in Taipei and got a look at some of their upcoming products.
First off the blocks is a pretty amazing piece of technology that is able to effectively emulate surround sound from one single center speaker bar that sits in front of you just below your monitor.
We were introduced to the Cine5 by ASUS product manager Ives Chiu in the video we have uploaded below. Sadly our videos are only uploaded with two channel audio, so you won't hear the full effect of the product as intended, but you should get some idea of the audio positioning. Hit the play button.
In the picture below, you can see the cable connectors on the back of the speaker. There are no special tricks required here; all you need to do is just use the standard analog audio cable hookup from your motherboard or sound card.
We were very impressed with the product and we are looking forward to getting in a sample for review soon. ASUS may have a Cine5 product coming out a little later with a discrete subwoofer and that's something I would love to get my hands on as well!
