Jim Doe addressed the audience on the overview of Qualcomm's new "Snapdragon" processors. Qualcomm has mass produced the Snapdragon chip line with 40 new designs in the works.
Today Smartbook is the newest technology added which will focus on Always On and Instant On tech and Qualcomm expects to see the first products based on the new Snapdragon by end of year. The new Snapdragon is the 45nm 1.3GHz QSD8650A with power and performance enhancements.
Snapdragon already has quite a few big names like ASUS and Toshiba lined up. Not only does Snapdragon have hardware support but it also has some major software support including Android.
Snapdragon's new features include the die reduction as well as improving the FPU and multimedia capabilities over the previous generation as well as increasing the clock speed of the processor itself.
