Microsoft Windows 8/8.1 users should be able to upgrade to Windows 9 for free, according to reports.

Microsoft will offer resolution support of up to 8K in Windows 9, as well as better DPI scaling for high-res displays.

Windows 9 will be officially announced on September 30, which should be followed by the public beta.

Windows 9 to be unveiled by Microsoft next month, where we should hopefully be treated by a Preview of the new OS.

Microsoft will reportedly get rid of the Charms menu in Windows 9, will introduce virtual desktops.
