ASUS GeForce 7800GT Dual - Foo Shizzle My Nizzle

High Quality AA and AF

In our High Quality tests we bump the Antialiasing (AA) and Anisotropic Filtering (AF) up causing the card(s) to be put under more load.

This usually helps us remove the CPU limitation. We use 4 x AA and 8 x AF as this is quite a common setup for most people who are venturing into the AA and AF area.

No different to our non AA and AF tests, 3DMark05 really benefits from the SLI technology and shows the 7800GT Dual is a menacing force.

We see again Half Life 2 take no advantage of SLI which in turn shows that the 7800GTX is quicker at these high quality settings.

In our non AA and AF tests we saw that the higher resolution gave the 7800GT Dual a good jump on the single card solution, when we mix it up with AA and AF the 7800GT Dual shows a huge performance gap between the two cards.

Utilizing the Doom 3 engine we see similar results with the Dual being a lot quicker and offering what is a really playable FPS unlike the single 7800GTX solution.

We can see that Quake 4 is also more intensive as while it does use the same engine as Doom 3, the average FPS is almost half. Mmmm, sexy textures…
