Starting off with CPU performance, you can see the MSI Z97I AC pretty much lines up with everything else here, with no real changes being seen. When we throw overclocking into the mix, you can see that we get a slight improvement in all our tests here. The gain isn't huge, though, as our i7 4790K just isn't the best overclocker.

Out of the box the performance of the MSI Z97I AC lines up with the other boards for the most part. We really don't see much more than a bit of fluctuation. When it comes to overclocking, we see a bit of a performance boost in both areas. However, with the strong base clock on the i7 4790K, and the fact that ours isn't the best overclocker, the increase isn't too much.
