3DMark03

3DMark03 is the latest version of the highly favored 3DMark series. By combining full DirectX9.0 support with completely new tests and graphics, 3DMark03 continues the legacy of being industry standard benchmark. The build 330 patch was installed before testing.

When using a bit newer benchmark that was created to stress out the graphics system a bit more strenuously, we see that the new 9800 Pro begins to shine. The differences become more impressive when you look at the actual percentage gain in performance. This works out to a 12% gain at a resolution of 1024, 13% at 1280 and 15% when cranking it up to 1600. With meager increases being normal between newer generations of video boards, the higher marks in this series of tests is looking very nice indeed.
