3DMark2001SE

3DMark2001 SE is a part of the popular 3DMark series. By combining DirectX 8.1 support with completely new graphics (including the GeForce4), it continues to provide benchmark results that empower you to make informed hardware assessments. The build 330 patch was installed before testing.

Though this particular benchmark is beginning to show its age, there were still measurable gains at all resolutions. We see a 4% gain at the 1024 setting, a 7% increase at the 1280 setting, and a very nice 9% rise in performance at the 1600 setting. This works out to be a very nice increase in performance for about the same amount of money that we we're paying for the older 9700 Pro board.
