Benchmarks - Sandra 2003

SiSoft Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) 2002 is a synthetic Windows benchmark that features different tests used to evaluate different PC subsystems. We used this to test CPU Raw Performance, Multimedia Instruction Set and Memory Bandwidth Performance. While they are all synthetic results, they do give us a general idea of what is happening and where a component's strengths and weaknesses are.

Here we see the Gigabyte just ahead of the Asus but nothing significant. It seems that the Granite Bay doesn't give much boost in performance as far as the CPU is concerned.

As soon as you pull the memory benchmarks out this is really where you see the Granite Bay take off. Let's hope that the extra boost in memory carries over to some of the games.
