- Package Contents

The card was bundled with a plethora of free software. This includes interVideo WinDVD 4, Cyberlink PowerDirector 2.1 ME Pro, Codename: Outbreak and Ballistics. Furthermore, the driver CD comes with nVidia's new 40.54 Detonator drivers and DirectX 8.1. As well as this, the package includes a detailed User's Manual, a 1.8m RCA cable, an S-Video to RCA converter and a "1 to 3" cable for Video-In/Out.

We were very impressed with this bundle from Prolink and couldn't have asked for much more. The extra software comes in very handy by allowing you to test your card's full feature-set straight out of the box, as do the included cables.

- The Card

Firstly, the card features Prolink's usual gold colored PCB. Colored PCBs appeal to case modders because many of them install window kits into their cases, which allows the inside mechanics of the PC to be seen by everyone passing by. Let's face it, a colored component would look much more attractive than a regular brown/green component. To complement the gold PCB, Prolink also have an attractive gold heatsink/fan unit cooling the GPU and gold memory heatsinks on both the front and back of the card.

As mentioned earlier, the card features a core clock speed of 280MHz and a memory clock speed of 520MHz. There are a total of eight 16MB memory chips on the card - four on the front and four on the back. This gives a total of 128MB onboard DDR memory. The memory chips on the card are made by Samsung and are rated at 5ns.

The card we received features a DVI connector, TV-Out supporting resolutions of up to 1024x768 and Video-In/Out. Video-In/Out and TV-Out are both provided by the Phillips SAA7114H controller. We found this controller to be of excellent quality and were actually quite surprised at how crisp an image it produced.
