Our test system candidates consist of three boards. First off the new P35 QD6 motherboard running at both stock and overclocked speeds. The second is our MSI P35 Platinum board which was the first P35 retail board to cross our labs, this was also tested with stock and OC speeds. Lastly we have our tried and true P965 DQ6, the board that the P35 DQ6 is aiming to replace for Gigabyte, once again running at stock and OC.

All boards ran 266MHz FSB with an 11x multiplier and a 1:1 memory ratio for 2.93GHz for the stock results. For the OC side of things, the P35 DQ6 ran with a FSB of 517MHz and a multiplier of 7x for a total of 3619MHz. The MSI P35 Platinum ran with a FSB of 478MHz and a multiplier of 7x for a total of 3346MHz. Lastly our P965 DQ6 ran with our OC standard of 503MHz and a multiplier of 7x for a total of 3512MHz. Memory settings at all times were kept at SPD with ratio at 1:1.

Is the Gigabyte P35 a worthy successor to the P965? Let us find out right now!
