NVIDIA's super-fast GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is ripping up gaming desktops, but what about gaming laptops? It looks like NVIDIA is working on bringing its GTX 1080 Ti to laptops, something the company never usually does.

According to a post on NotebookReview's forums teases that NVIDIA is working on a new SKU based on the MXM form factor, which is much faster than the GTX 1080. The screenshot shows that this purported GTX 1080 Ti rocks 11GB of GDDR5X memory on the 352-bit memory bus, and since there's only the GP102 that rocks 11GB of RAM, it looks like this is the GTX 1080 Ti.

The GPU-Z screenshot shows that it is the full GTX 1080 Ti, with 3584 CUDA cores - but the GPU-Z screenshot is displaying the wrong TMU and ROP numbers.

NVIDIA had the crown for a couple of weeks with its impressively fast GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, but it looks like AMD is coming out of thin air with a monster graphics card in their new Radeon RX Vega - thanks to newly leaked docs.

AMD will be offering Radeon RX Vega in three forms: 4GB HBM2, 8GB HBM2, and 16GB of HBM2 - with AMD promising that 4GB of HBM2 will outperform 11GB of GDDR5X - the VRAM found on the GTX 1080 Ti.

Vega has a brain and a soul - with 2x the performance per clock, and 4x the performance per watt of its previous-gen GPU architecture.

Palmer Luckey has been in the headlines for years, as the co-founder of the first real VR headset: the Oculus Rift. Luckey has been embroiled in scandals for a while now, and will be officially leaving Facebook, which acquired Oculus a few years ago in a deal worth $2 billion.

UploadVR reports: "Palmer will be dearly missed. Palmer's legacy extends far beyond Oculus. His inventive spirit helped kickstart the modern VR revolution and helped build an industry. We're thankful for everything he did for Oculus and VR and wish him the best".

Luckey hasn't had much luck in the public eye recently, as the two most recent appearances by the Oculus co-founder have been to apologize for his contribution of spreading controversial memes, and then to testify in the legal case between ZeniMax and Oculus. Facebook wouldn't state whether Luckey left voluntarily, so maybe he was removed from the company after all this time.

ASUS has announced two new graphics cards that will be available under the upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti custom models, with the upgraded GTX 1080 and GTX 1060. The new GeForce GTX 1080 rocks 8GB of GDDR5X, clocked at 11Gbps compared to 10Gbps on the original GTX 1080 - while the GTX 1060 has its 6GB of GDDR5 clocked up to 9Gbps, compared to 8Gbps on the original GTX 1060.

The new ASUS GTX 1080 8GB 11Gbps Strix OC will rock the triple-fan DirectCU III cooling setup from ASUS, with a 2-slot design, and 8+2-phase power with 8+6-pin PCIe power connectors.

ASUS hasn't revealed the GPU clock speeds for its new Strix card just yet, but it will be launching mid-April.

AMD isn't just attacking the high-end graphics card market with its upcoming Radeon RX Vega graphics card, but it will be refreshing its Radeon RX 400 series of cards with the new Radeon RX 500 series.

Now we have some photos of the purported Radeon RX 580 and RX 570, both without their coolers on. The Radeon RX 580 engineering sample features a new PCB design, with AMD surely making improvements over the not-so-great PCB on the Radeon RX 480, which created headlines with its power issues - that were quickly fixed with updates from AMD.

The new Radeon RX 580 features a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, which should let the RX 580 clock higher than the RX 480, offering 10-15% more performance. We should see AMD ship the Radeon RX 580 with 8GB of GDDR5.

GIGABYTE has unveiled 3 new custom GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, under both the GIGABYTE and AORUS brands, led by the flagship AORUS GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G.

The new AORUS GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G is overclocked to 1632/1746MHz, while offering a 'gaming mode' profile that will clock the GPU at 1607/1721MHz, but we all know GPU Boost 3.0 will clock them closer to 2GHz in real-world scenarios. GIGABYTE overclocks the 11GB of GDDR5X on the AORUS GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G, from its default clocks of 11Gbps, to 11.45Gbps in OC mode, and 11.23Gbps in gaming mode.

GIGABYTE also provides 2 x DVI ports, and a total of 3 x HDMI 2.0 ports (one on the back, two on the other end of the card for VR setups), and 3 x DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. The GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G requires 8+8-pin PCIe power connectors, with a 12+2-phase power system.

MSI might have its monster GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X coming soon, but the cheaper Aero and Armor models are coming with some slight differences. They'll still boast the power of the GP102 with its 3584 CUDA cores, and 11GB of GDDR5X @ 11Gbps, but the cooling tech will not be as good as the Twin Frozr VI cooler on the Gaming X model.

MSI's new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Aero uses the reference PCB, with a black/green design and a blower-style cooler. MSI will have two different models, with slightly tweaked GPU clocks: with the stock model clocking in at 1480/1582MHz for base/boost respectively.

Colorful has teased its new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, with its new high-end iGame series teased with a new cooler design called "Shark Bioinics", which features 3 x 92mm fans.

The card itself glows with red light thanks to the various LEDs around the cooling shroud, and if you remember - Colorful is stepping outside of the realm of 'normal graphics cards' and slapping a damn LED on top of the iGame GTX 1080 Ti graphics card.

Colorful's exciting LCD on the iGame GTX 1080 Ti will feature current GPU clock speeds, GPU usage, GPU temperature, and the status of the fans.

MSI has made its GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X graphics card official, with a proper tease at card with its spruced up cooler both on, and off - as well as the technical specifications, so we have some GPU and VRAM clock speeds to share.

MSI will be offering its usual three overclocking modes: Silent, Gaming, and OC modes. Silent Mode sees the GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X clocked at 1480/1582MHz on the GPU, and 11000MHz on the 11GB of GDDR5X. Gaming Mode ramps up the GPU clocks to 1544/1657MHz, with the GDDR5X clocks at 11016MHz (16MHz overclock), while the OC Mode clocks the card at 1569/1683MHz, and the GDDR5X at 11124MHz.

The card doesn't look as long as usual, with MSI doing some great work on the custom PCB on the GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X.

AMD hosted its Tech Summit in China recently, with CEO Lisa Su announcing their mid-range Ryzen 5 availability, with demos and more on show. There were some new details released on Radeon RX Vega, and because I foolishly had a night off from work - I missed this story, but here it is!

Scott Herkelman, the former General GeForce Manager at NVIDIA and now VP of AMD took the stage, with his segment concentrated solely on Radeon RX Vega. We now know that Radeon RX Vega will definitely come in both 4GB and 8GB variants, both running the new HBM2 memory that should hopefully pave the way for various improvements. HBM2 uses far less space on the PCB, so we should expect shorter cards that are magnitudes faster than the Radeon RX 480.
