Crysis 2 launched, console gamers in love, PC gamers overlook the last 3 letters in Crysis

Crysis 2 has launched and has gotten some huge attention because of it's multi-platform release. It has been released on Xbox 360 and PS3 and of course for PC. Console gamers have bragged that it's some of the best graphics ever on consoles while PC gamers are saying the original (with mods) looks better.

AMD blames DirectX for lack of amazing PC graphics, refers to it as "getting in the way" otherwise known as rooster blocking

This is something I've complained about for years but it seems the big players are only just realising this. It won't stop though as I'm sure AMD are bending over backwards trying to get contracts for next-generation console GPU/APU - yet, wonder why PC gaming is suffering... on with the story! AMD's worldwide developer relations manager, Richard Huddy blames Microsoft and more precisely, DirectX for the lack of great looking games on PC.

Microsoft tease us with the future of video gaming

Microsoft have shown off its goal for its next-generation gaming platform, the video below is dated from May 2010 so it's quite a bit old now but it shows the direction Microsoft have in mind for their ever-growing gaming platforms. The video shows off some concepts and principals of what the WGX (Windows Gaming Experience) team hopes to achieve. We see a blend of Windows, Xbox and mobile platforms being merged into one.
