Acer launches the worlds first 27-inch, 120hz, NVIDIA 3D Vision-compatible monitor

Anthony Garreffa | Apr 27, 2011 9:59 PM CDT

Acer have hit the market first with a 27-inch, Full-HD, 3D Display. Dubbed the Acer HN274H, Acer have specced it well, Full HD, 100, 000, 000:1 contrast ratio, LED-backlit, 120hz refresh rate and a 2ms response time is not too shabby at all. Yes it's not an IPS-based panel, but for the fast-motion, first-person shooter fans like myself, the 120hz gives you a semi. If that doesn't get the blood pumping, it is also (and obviously) capable of 3D with NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology.

Shane McGlaun | Jan 18, 2011 1:06 PM CST

LCDs that get connectivity for video and power from a single USB port aren't new. They have been around for a while now and are often used by folks with notebooks and netbooks to get a larger screen in the office and on the go. Shane McGlaun | Jan 18, 2011 11:22 AM CST

Epson has announced a new line of projectors that will slot into its range of education offerings that have some nice new features. The projectors should be perfectly acceptable for other uses in the home and office too. The new line includes the D6150, G6155W, and the D6250. The three projectors have many common features like a filter life of 10,000 hours and a lamp life of 5,000 hours.

Samsung shows off sweet new Super PLS LCD

Shane McGlaun | Dec 1, 2010 1:00 PM CST

One of the most compelling reasons for me to upgrade to the iPhone 4 from my iPhone 3GS (other than the cracked screen on my 3GS) was that the iPhone 4 has a much better screen. The quality of the screen is one of the biggest reasons that media consuming smartphone users will use to upgrade to a new device. That is assuming that a geek needs any reason at all to upgrade other than a new device is available.
