For the first time, details have emerged regarding AMD's plans for their next-gen desktop graphics card lineup set to become the Radeon HD 4000 Series.

German website has sourced a roadmap which outlines substantial info as to the varying models and their accompanying specs. At this early stage it looks like seven cards will be slated for release in late Q2 this year, though we're not yet sure which order we'll see them arrive.

As detailed at and Nordic Hardware, the lineup will begin with the RV710 based Radeon HD 4450 and Radeon HD 4470, then moving up to the RV740 based Radeon HD 4650 and Radeon HD 4670. The top-end of the series will be filled with the RV770 based HD 4850, Radeon HD 4870 and Radeon HD 4870 X2 models.

The ATI Radeon HD 4000 series is slated for late Q2. Information about the high-end RV770 has been leaking onto the web, from here and there, but the exact specifications has remained in the shadows. German hardware site has gotten their hands on what seems to be pretty authentic information. As far as we can tell, it looks believable and matches the rumors going around. We're still far away from the launch and the figures are subject to change. We also have some information on our own to share with you.
