Reports are now coming out about China deleting a database containing important COVID-19 information from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
NBC News has said it can confirm that an important database of information on COVID-19 was deleted from the Wuhan Institute of Virology last spring. As you can imagine, this decision has caused many questions to erupt about the legitimacy of China's claims about the origin of COVID-19. NBC says that this database had 20,000 entries and may have contained clues about what the Chinese were studying.
Additionally, a senior lab official from the Wuhan Institute of Virology has said that the database was "removed for security reasons". The origin of COVID-19 still remains a mystery, but a team of investigators from the World Health Organization (WHO) has arrived in Wuhan and is tasked with finding out how COVID-19 came to life. One member of the WHO's team has said that China is providing them with data that wasn't previously released to the public. For more information on this story, visit this link here.
