FDA found something extra in the Pfizer vaccine, this is what it is
The Food and Drug Administration announced it found something extra in the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. This is what it is.
The Pfrizer vaccine is being rolled out in select areas, and now the FDA has given us an update about what is actually in the vial.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced via a spokesperson that some Pfizer vaccine vials contain extra unintended doses. The vaccine vial is meant to hold five doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, but pharmacists are finding that some vial contain six or even seven doses.
Additionally, the FDA spokesperson also said that since the country is amid a public health crisis, the extra vaccine doses can be used if they reach the required mL. "Given the public health emergency, FDA is advising that it is acceptable to use every full dose obtainable." However, Pfizer has said to pharmacists that they must dispose of any remaining vaccine vials if they contain 0.3 mL or less.
