Coronavirus vaccines are on the horizon, which means that normal life returning isn't that far away, or is it?
Dr. Fauci, the nation's leading infectious disease expert, said on Wednesday that Moderna's coronavirus vaccine is close to 100% effective in preventing a COVID-19 infection. However, it still remains unknown how long this immunity will last.
During the interview, the topic of normal life returning was brought up, and Dr. Fauci said that if the vaccines are taken efficiently over the second quarter of 2021, then by the end of 2021, there should be some level of herd immunity. The infectious disease expert said that 75-80% of Americans would have to get vaccinated for herd immunity to be reached at the end of 2021.
