30,000 people have now officially died from coronavirus in Iran
Over the weekend Iran announced that its coronavirus death toll passed 30,000, according to the country Health Ministry.
The coronavirus pandemic is still causing thousands of people to die across the world, and now one country has passed a new milestone in terms of deaths.
According to the Iran Health Ministry, the country has now passed 30,000 coronavirus deaths as of Saturday last week. Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said that the new death toll has hit 30,123, and that 4,721 coronavirus patients are still in critical condition.
What is very concerning is Iran has seen its daily death tolls reach the highest the country has ever seen them, which has caused the country's government to consider lockdowns even though many officials are resisting. At the moment, Iran has confirmed more than 526,000 COVID-19 cases. If you want to track the coronavirus for yourself, check out this link here.
