As you can probably imagine, the tourist and airline industry has been one of the industries that have been hit the hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.
Now, in an effort to get things slowly back to normal, United Airlines is offering its travelers on-the-spot coronavirus tests at the airport before they board the plane. These tests will only be offered to United customers going to Hawaii from San Francisco International Airport, starting on October 15th. These tests are developed by Abbot Laboratories and are described as rapid tests as they provide results in just 15 minutes.
Additionally, United customers have the option of submitting a coronavirus test 72 hours before they board the flight. The result of this testing before passengers board the plane is that when passengers arrive in Hawaii, they won't be required to participate in the 14-day mandatory quarantine period that is a law for those arriving from outside the state.
