The Shenzhen local government has issued a public warning to consumers after a certain type of food has tested positive for coronavirus.
According to the statement, consumers in the Chinese city of Shenzhen should initiate a certain level of caution when purchasing frozen imported food from Brazil because a surface sample of chicken wings has tested positive for coronavirus. Officials tested a surface sample of the meat and found that it was positive for COVID-19, while previously, officials have found positive samples of COVID-19 from the surface of food packaging.
The chicken was traced back to the Aurora Alimentos plant, located in the southern state of Santa Catarina. Luckily, virus tests for all the people who came into contact with the product have so far tested negative. Additionally, the government issued a warning for anyone purchasing any imported goods to be cautious of live samples of coronavirus in the food or on the packaging.
