Florida has hit a new milestone when it comes to coronavirus cases as the state has reported it has reached 500,000 confirmed cases of the virus.
Florida had to recently shut down its coronavirus testing stations because of Tropical Storm Isaias rolling through the state, and now that they have reopened, officials have announced that it has surpassed the half a million mark for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
This past Wednesday, Florida reported 225 new deaths, which brought its seven-day average of daily deaths to 185, which is almost a quarter of what New York's was back in April. The Florida Health Department announced on Wednesday 5,409 new coronavirus cases, and if you are interested in tracking the coronavirus cases yourself, you can use this coronavirus tracker here.
