According to ChileHardware, Seagate are gearing up to compete with WDs Raptor lineup with some 10,000rpm desktop hard drives of their own. It'll be nice to finally see a bit of competition in the market with these 10k beasts.

Last week we have a meeting with a Seagate engineer, he told us that Seagate is readying a 10.000rpm hard drive to compete directly with Western Digital Raptor hard drives, they feel that the demand for this disks for the desktop market is big enough and that also the cost of producing such a hard drive is low enough.
