Jon Peddie Research has published its latest report on discrete graphics card sales and market share, with JPR seeing good increases in GPU shipments for both NVIDIA and AMD in Q3 2019.
NVIDIA has experienced a rather large 38.3% increase in GPU shipments in the latest quarter, riding on the success of its Turing GPU architecture and GeForce RTX SUPER range of graphics cards. AMD on the other hand has seen an increase in GPU shipments of 8.7% thanks to its new Navi GPU architecture and Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards.
89 million GPUs were shipped in Q3 2019 -- but this isn't just GeForce and Radoen graphics cards as these 89 million GPUs shipped includes integrated GPUs on CPUs. On top of that, AIB shipments of custom graphics cards rose by 42% which is another big surprise.
