Seth McFarlane launches live action sci-fi comedy show

'Star Trek' style spoof 'The Orville' set to hit screens soon

Seth McFarlane, the man behind animated TV comedies 'Family Guy' and 'American Dad' has launched the first trailer for the upcoming sci-fi comedy 'Orville', his first live action show.

Seemingly mirrored on 'Galaxy Quest' the 'Star Trek' spoof 'Orville' stars McFarlane Ed Mercer, the captain of the starship Orville, Adrianne Palicki as Kelly Grayson, 'Orville's first officer and Ed's ex-wife and Scott Grimes as Gordon Malloy, 'Orville's helmsman and Ed's best friend.


The series is set to premier during the 17/18 series, with 13 one hour long episodes. The series kicks off with a pilot episode directed by 'Iron Man' and 'Jungle Book' director Jon Favreau.
