Huawei's new Kirin 970 rocks 8 CPU cores at 3GHz each
Huawei's upcoming Kirin 970 clocks in at 3GHz maximum, with 8 CPU cores for a super-fast smartphone.
The fresh details on Huawei's next-gen Kirin 970 processor have arrived, with Huawei baking it on the new 10nm process with 8 CPU cores at up to 3GHz each. There will be two quad-core processors inside, with an ARM Cortex-A73 and ARM Cortex-A53.
The company only just recently unveiled the Kirin 960 chip, but the Kirin 970 will bump up from to 3GHz clocks on the CPU cores, up from 1.8-2.4GHz on Kirin 960. According to the rumors, Huawei will be asking TSMC to manufacturer their Kirin 970 processors in Taiwan.
As for when Huawei will launch a smartphone with its next-gen Kirin 970 chip inside, we should expect it to launch with the Mate 10 - which could be very soon indeed.
