MMO Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns halves price for a week

ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns drops 50% hitting its all-time price low on both Standard and Deluxe Edition

Never got around to trying out Guild Wars 2 even after it went free to play last August? New low prices await from ArenaNet this week with a 50% drop. That grants you everything you need to get started for $25, or if you want a few in-game extras the Deluxe is actually cheaper than the Standard normally costs.

This deal is valid at the official Guild Wars 2 store for a full week. That gives you now through November 22 to pick the game up on the cheap. When not on a big sale, the game is typically around $38, or about 25% off.

Since the Deluxe Edition is well below the $50 you'd normally pay for the Standard Edition of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, some MMO (or past Guild Wars fans) may wonder which they should be picking up. While the answer to this is quite subjective, we'll break down the differences below so you can make a quick decision. If you think you'll fully immerse yourself into Guild Wars 2, go nuts with Deluxe with the main benefit being an extra character slot. However, if you're just looking to get in on the popular MMO for cheap, we'd suggest sticking with Standard.

Heart of Thorns Deluxe Edition includes:

  • Additional Character Slot
  • Miniature Revenant Rytlock
  • Revenant Finisher move
  • Mordremoth's Bane Guild Hall Decoration
  • Heart of Thorns Glider Skin

Both editions of the game come with all the Guild Wars 2 experience and feature a paid user gets. Plus, you'll also receive a "Max-Level Boost", which will level one of your characters to 80. Max level boost comes with various high level gears and gold, so you're not left naked when entering Tyria at a high level.
