Xbox One S now gets free game of choice from Microsoft

Xbox One S and old Xbox One bundles are coming with at least one free game of your choice at select retailers

If you were planning to buy an Xbox One S (or even the older Xbox One) purchase this year, retailers have started up some new aggressive offers pre-holiday season. This week, Microsoft Store is trying to incentivize sales by offering a bonus free game of choice at select retailers. With the recent price drops on Xbox One consoles, we're seeing some fairly hot Xbox One and Xbox One S deals.

The Microsoft Store has two really hot Xbox One S bundles as of writing. The August 23rd released Madden NFL 17 1TB bundle and the Halo Collections bundle (both 500GB and 1TB) are getting a free copy of The Crew and a free game of your choice. The game you choose is from a list of 19 options, which include recent releases like Recore and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

GameStop is also a great option for both the Xbox One S and Xbox One bundles. At GameStop, they are offering a free game of your choice from their entire catalog of in-stock physical games (no pre-orders or digital downloads). The best Xbox One S deal at GameStop is the brand new Minecraft bundle which does not have a free game offer anywhere else online (not even Microsoft Store). At GameStop, they also have old Xbox One Gears of War Ultimate Edition Bundles on sale for $229.99 (a $20 discount from everywhere else online) already bundled with a free game - so, you essentially get two free games at a new low historic price point.

Walmart even has an offer you should check out on the Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle. At Walmart, you pay the same $349 as anywhere else, but you'll also get a free choice of game from a list of 9 plus a bonus Wireless controller. The list of games isn't as extensive as the Microsoft Store or GameStop, but the extra controller bonus is something you won't find elsewhere online.

These offers are valid this week only and end on Saturday, October 1. After Saturday, the prices won't change, but the bonus free games from the retailers mentioned above will disappear.
